2026 Beacon Association Calendar Now On Sale!

We know it’s January but it still isn’t too late to buy a POSTBOX TOPPER CALENDAR and help raise money for the Beacon Association Community Arts for events to run for the community of Upton and Lytchett Minster to help us to keep the mural garden in pristine condition throughout the year and also to fund 2027 calendar. 

They are going to be available until the end of January for £10 and the following venues have kindly agreed to continue selling them. See below for venues to purchase.

Thank you very much to everyone who have already bought one and for your support in helping us reach out to the community and bringing a smile to passerbys with children when they spot the toppers and continue when they buy a calendar to take home.

Celebrating Community and Creativity in Upton

The Art Strand is a small volunteer group passionate about bringing art, craft, gardening, and community events to life in Upton.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Rotary Club of Poole Bay Santa Train for helping us raise funds and creating a magical evening of Christmas wonder for local children. Our thanks also go to Upton and Lytchett Town Council for their generous grant, and to the Upton Carnival Committee, who - though no longer able to run the carnival - kindly donated funds to support our work. Your generosity continues to make a lasting impact on the events we bring to our community.

This year, we were especially proud to collaborate with local schools and children’s groups to create the artwork now brightening the hoardings beside the Co-op. The children painted small boards inspired by VE/VJ Day and emotions, working together with enthusiasm, creativity, and kindness. Their finished pieces tell powerful stories and are a joy for everyone to see.

It’s inspiring to witness how expressive and thoughtful our young artists can be. We are deeply grateful to the schools, teachers, and group leaders who made time in their busy schedules to take part. Their support helps us achieve our shared goal-making Upton a community we can all be proud of.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us with donations, encouragement, and kind words. Together, we’re keeping Upton’s creative spirit alive.
